Sr. Fareen Rozina Azad Bibi, as a in Fiji has her own experience on how she celebrates and what are activities carried out in the month of Ramadhan.  The blessed month of Ramadhan in Fiji Island and she take this opportunity as a gift from Allah s.w.t. to gain maximum rewards from this valuable month.

Her day begins at 3.30am when she wakes up to prepare Sahur for her family. She has to do most of the preparation the previous evening as she has to go to work the next day. After fajr prayers, she recites some verses from the Holy Al-Qur’an. At 7.15 she leaves for work.

At her school (Nadi ) they have organized special Ramadhan program daily before and after Zuhur prayers. After a busy day at school she has to rush home to prepare for Iftar as they do not have any sort of Bazaar Ramadhan organized in Fiji to buy . After Iftar preparation, she read the Al-Qur’an till it is time for iftar. After the Maghrib prayer she look for relevant Ramadhan articles or Islamic materials to be read to the students in her school the next day. Alhamdulillah the handouts which she has received from during the are very helpful to her. After performing Isya’ prayer and other forms of her day ends here.

During the month of Ramadhan majority of the Mosques organized Iftar program whereby those fasting break their fast, offer Maghrib prayer, have meals and offer Tarawih before going back home. Tarawih prayers are led by local Huffaz who complete the recitation of the Holy Qur’an during the month.

They have daily Ramadhan program aired over the radio during Sahur time and during the day. Their local Ulama from various Mosques around the country speak on relevant Ramadhan topics and there are also questions and answer sessions and Ramadhan Nasyid played on air. These programs are very beneficial for the Muslim community in Fiji.
