Sister Math Islamiyas, 23, is a Muslim from Kandal Province, .  She is a student of elite university, in . She was a volunteer as Peer Education with the CARE Organization and currently is a broadcaster and DJ at a radio station in Cambodia. She was attending International First and Second Level in year 2010.

On 22 May 2011, she had a mission to be a peer educator in one program that’s called “Muslim Students Educate Children about Important of Education and Hygiene” with 245 Cham Muslim children in Baren Village, Kandal Province. There are about 22 peer educators from differences universities in Phnom Penh to educate all these Children about the topic “Important of Education and Hygiene’’.

In this program, they had some activities in order to educate them related to this topic. They are divided into 10 groups among the children. Each group, two peer educators have to take responsibility all their kids and provide them some speeches about important of education (General Knowledge and Islamic Knowledge), hygiene (External and Internal Environment) and some games to make them have a nice fun in their program. They have educated them how to be a good student, how to make their study get better, motivate them to study hard, how to be a good children for their family and educated them how to make their body, clothes, home are clean, how to brush their teeth and so on. After they gave these speeches, the children will practice some activities like brush their teeth and make the environment around the Masjid is clean. They also invite Ustaz to give more detail about important of Islamic education and Hygiene in and they have created some mini drama role play by their peer educators to make the children have fun and take out any good idea for education from this role play. Their program has corporate with the of villager.

This is the best program they have had and some of her friends have done it with successful. She plan to continue this program next time and focus to the other village. Insyaallah.
