Auckland, New Zealand – Within 24 hours since the launching of Baitulmal Australia, YAB Pehin Sri arrived in Auckland and officiated Baitulmal New Zealand. The ambience of a ballroom at Langham Hotel witnessed the heralding of BAITULMAL New Zealand as the blueprint of the future. In retrospect, it was in Auckland, two years ago (2009), the President of RISEAP, YAB Pehin Sri initiated the idea of forming BAITULMAL for Australia and New Zealand.

Sydney, Australia - In the splendid Malek Fahd Islamic School hall, marked the historical launching of Baitulmal Australia under the care of The Australian Federation of Islamic Councils (AFIC). BAITULMAL AUSTRALIA. The formation of BAITULMAL AUSTRALIA was the brainchild of RISEAP’s President, YAB Pehin Sri Dr. Hj. Abdul Taib Mahmud. In his keynote address, YAB Pehin Sri said the idea of Baitulmal was muted more than 10 years ago. Pehin reiterated the need to operationalize the concept of Baitulmal and let it start modestly and grow with the growing awareness and population of the Muslims in the continent.

RISEAP Islamic Course at IIUM
A total of 15 participants from seven RISEAP member countries namely Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar, PNG, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Thailand attended a one-month Islamic course which was started from 03 till 31 October 2011, at International Islamic University Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.
During their stay in Malaysia, all participants were required to attend class lectures in several subjects among others are the Unity of God, Various types of Prayers, Qur’an Reading and its Meanings, Janazah Preparation, Haj and Umrah.
