Islamic Participants

A group of Islamic course participants visited Putrajaya and Selangor College (KUIS), on 14 October 2011, as a part of the course programme with the aim to broaden their experience and knowledge about especially in the areas of education and the diversity of religious, social and ethnic background among Malaysians.

Sixteen participants, male and female from seven countries, toured Putrajaya where almost all government offices and various ministries including the Office of Prime and Federal Court are located. However, they were very interested to visit a new which named after the current King of Malaysia, Sultan Mizan . Since the visit was on Friday, they had an opportunity to observe Friday prayer along with civil servants and government officials working in and around Putrajaya.  They spent a few hours in Putrajaya before leaving for KUIS on the way back to .

At Selangor International Islamic University College better known in Malaysia as KUIS, located in Bangi, about 50 kilometres from Kuala Lumpur, the participants were welcomed by its Education Director, Mr Raj Khan who gave a briefing on the background of KUIS and various courses offered to the students. After a briefing, they brought to visit various faculties and departments in the university.

KUIS offers several subjects under different faculties including Management and Muamalat, Modern Language and Communication, Nursing and Allied Health Science, Education and Islamic Studies. Currently, KUIS is offering various disciplines at both diploma, undergraduate and post graduate levels including MBA in Muamalat and Master of Shari’ah in Management.

The participants were impressed with the university especially the variety of courses offered and its beautiful surroundings and location.

The group was led by staff namely Maj  (Rtd) , Sis Norainidah Jayus, Ustaz Nik Syahriman Nik Mat, Br Azmi Hashim and a volunteer, Br Rahman Bin Ismail. RISEAP would to thank KUIS staff for their kind hospitality for the visitors especially Mr Raj Khan for his briefing.
