Muslimah Course in Cambodia

RISEAP conducted a special intensive course for Muslimah at Masjid Al Anwar in Puk Bhau village, Kompong Cham, Cambodia, from 25 June 2011 to 01 July 2011 as a part of its da’wah mission to improve Islamic education in Cambodia. The Muslimah course is the first ever conducted by RISEAP in the area. A total of 63 women from several villages attended this 7-day course.

Islamic Course Closing Ceremony, IIUM
RISEAP is taking a serious step to provide a systematic and formal Islamic education to minority Muslims who are in need of education in order to spread Islam more effectively in their community. The Islamic Course, a part of RISEAP Initiatives, is a rare course that is ever conducted by Islamic organizations in the region.
RISEAP has been conducting a series of this international Islamic course since the year 2000 in order to impart Islamic knowledge to these minority Muslims particularly new converts.

Japanese Muslims Help Earthqake Victims
Japan Muslim Association (JMA), a RISEAP member organization in Japan, in association with Japan Islamic Trust (Otsuka Mosque), dispatched a group of Muslim relief workers to provide necessary help to the victims of earthquake in Fukushima on 17 April 2011, The group led by Dr Ahmad Shiozaki Yuki, Secretary General of JMA, donated food to hundreds of the victims now being evacuated to various places including a high school in Iwaki City.

RISEAP Islamic Course Kicked Off at IIUM
Regional Islamic Da’wah Council of Southeast Asia and the Pacific (RISEAP) launched its latest series of Islamic course at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in Kuala Lumpur from 09 May 2011 to 04 June 2011, with 12 participants from seven RISEAP member countries in the region namely Hong Kong, Malaysia, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Taiwan.
Instead of conducting two separate courses for male and female, this course is a combination of the two namely Muslimah and Young Imam Courses (Level One). RISEAP Conducts Islamic Course in Vietnam
RISEAP conducted a one week Islamic course in Vietnam with the aim to improve Islamic knowledge and skills among the imam from local mosques. The course conducted by Ust Nik Syahriman Nik Mat and Ust Mohamad Firdause Abdillah, was held in Tay Ninh province, Vietnam, from 24 – 29 April 2011. A total of 30 imam and da’wah workers from six mosques in the area attended the course.
The opening ceremony of the course was held on the 24th of April at Masjid Noorul Islam, Kampung Kabak, Tay Ninh province, 150 km from Ho Chi Mihn City. FML Organizes Talks for Women
RISEAP member organization in Fiji, Fiji Muslim League (FML) organized a special session for talks and discussions related to Muslim women in Fiji, on 22 April 2011, at Lautoka Muslim College. A total of 35 participants attended the one-day talk.
The gathering was to provide Islamic awareness and a sense of unity among Muslim women in the country besides to provide them with Knowledge and leadership skill and how to run their daily life as a working mother and/or housewife. The participants were invited from various FML branches in several areas in the country including Suva, Lautoka, Nadi and Ba.

Dr Hj Abdul Taib Mahmud Islamic Centre in Jeju, Korea Attracts Malaysian Tourists
A group of 25 tourists from Kuching, Sarawak , Malaysia paid a courtesy visit to an Islamic centre in Jeju island on 2 April 2010, upon their arrival at the Centre, which is known as Dr Hj Abdul Taib Mahmud Islamic Centre, they were welcomed by Prof Hj Bashir Kim Dae Yong, who is the manager of the Centre and also the RISEAP Vice President for Northern Zone.
The group from the Daya Builders Sdn Bhd, led by Hj Iskandar Nor, spent few days in Jeju island as a part of their visit to South Korea.
