Islamic Course Closing Ceremony
A one-month Islamic course, held in association with International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), came to an end when all 16 participants from 7 countries gathered at a simple Closing Ceremony to mark the event on 13 April 2012 (Friday), at IIUM’s Sultan Ahmad Shah Mosque.
It is a norm for RISEAP to hold a closing ceremony to mark the end of each course and to award the certificate of participation to all participants. RISEAP Islamic Course Held at IIUM
A latest series of RISEAP Islamic course started at International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) from 19 March 2012 to 15 April 2012, with a total of 16 participants from eight RISEAP member countries namely Cambodia, Malaysia, Japan, Philippines, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Thailand attended this one-month course.
RISEAP has been conducting several Islamic courses since 1999 with the aim to provide and inculcate Islamic understandings and its fundamental knowledge to members of Muslim minority from RISEAP member countries in Southeast Asian and the Pacific region.

RISEAP, IIUM Mosque to Promote Da’wah Activity
RISEAP and Sultan Hj Ahmad Shah Mosque officials held a meeting to discuss future cooperation and enhance ties between the two Islamic bodies particularly in areas of education and da’wah activities, on 16 February 2012, at Office of the Sultan Hj Ahmad Shah Mosque, International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM).

Of no argument that everyone’s experience on making major decisions in life takes enormous amount of bravery and courage. Remarkably of these decisions is to change one’s religion.
Sr. Daisy Jane “Jehaan” Corpin-Orcullo was born on Sept.22, 1967 in Pindasan, Madini, Dvao Del Norte, Philippines. She was born as a Muslim (Islam’s doctrine of fitra) but, being born to non-Muslim parents. She was brought up a Christian. Being the youngest child of the eight children she was born when her parents were active members and religiously followers of the SDA church. Malaysian Qari, Qari’ah Won the First Prize
Representatives from Malaysia, Br Amirahman Abas and Sis Suraya Abu Hasan both won the Qari and Qari’ah categories in the 53rd international Qur’an Recital Competition which was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 16-23 July 2011.
The second and third prize winners for the Qari category went to Br Saudi M. Gandisa from Philippines and Br Abdel Bast Mohamed from Egypt. While the fourth and fifth place went to Br Hamidreza Abbasi from Iran and Br Awang Ismail Sulaiman from Brunei respectively.

Islamic Course Closing Ceremony, IIUM
RISEAP is taking a serious step to provide a systematic and formal Islamic education to minority Muslims who are in need of education in order to spread Islam more effectively in their community. The Islamic Course, a part of RISEAP Initiatives, is a rare course that is ever conducted by Islamic organizations in the region.
RISEAP has been conducting a series of this international Islamic course since the year 2000 in order to impart Islamic knowledge to these minority Muslims particularly new converts.

RISEAP Islamic Course Kicked Off at IIUM
Regional Islamic Da’wah Council of Southeast Asia and the Pacific (RISEAP) launched its latest series of Islamic course at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in Kuala Lumpur from 09 May 2011 to 04 June 2011, with 12 participants from seven RISEAP member countries in the region namely Hong Kong, Malaysia, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Taiwan.
Instead of conducting two separate courses for male and female, this course is a combination of the two namely Muslimah and Young Imam Courses (Level One).
