RISEAP Helps Flood Victims in Thailand
RISEAP and its member organizations would like to express our sadness and sympathies to the flood victims which plagued Thailand since July.
As a part of its humanitarian aid, RISEAP along with its member organization in Singapore, Darul Arqam Singapore is pleased to donate an amount of THB312,000 to the Muslim Flood Relief Centre in Bangkok, Thailand. RISEAP hopes that with a small amount of donation, it would help ease some victims from miseries and frustrations.

Malaysian Qari, Qari’ah Won the First Prize
Representatives from Malaysia, Br Amirahman Abas and Sis Suraya Abu Hasan both won the Qari and Qari’ah categories in the 53rd international Qur’an Recital Competition which was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 16-23 July 2011.
The second and third prize winners for the Qari category went to Br Saudi M. Gandisa from Philippines and Br Abdel Bast Mohamed from Egypt. While the fourth and fifth place went to Br Hamidreza Abbasi from Iran and Br Awang Ismail Sulaiman from Brunei respectively.

Convention on Awareness through Mosque Tour Launched at ILIM
Kuala Lumpur, 07 December 2010. Islamic Outreach ABIM in association with Discover Islam of Bahrain organized it’s first ever convention on Awareness through Mosque Tour from 6-11 December 2010 at Institute of Islamic Training Malaysia (ILIM), Selangor, Malaysia.
The 6-day convention’s objective was to discuss the effectiveness of da’wah activities via mosque tour and to explore opportunity of using the mosque as a place of inviting others to understand Islam, besides, to provide awareness to Muslims on the importance of mosque and how to convey simple but effective messages of Islam and good experiences to non-Muslims while visiting mosque.

RISEAP’S 26th Executive Committee Meeting 2010 – at FIJI
Natadola, Fiji, 18th October 2010 - The Prime Minister of Fiji, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama was the guest of Honour of the Presidential Dinner of the 26th Executive Committee Meeting of Regional Islamic Da’Wah Council of South East Asia and the Pacific (RISEAP) held at the Intercontinental Fiji Golf and Spa, Natadola, Fiji on Monday night,18th October 2010. There were about 100 guests attending the dinner hosted by RISEAP. Among the VIPs of the evening were the Attorney General Of Fiji, Acting High Commissioner of Malaysia, Mr. Nor Azam Mohd. Idrus.

RAMADHAN IN ASIA AND PACIFIC – CENTRAL ZONE (PART 2)
- Every day, as dawn approaches, Quran recitation will be heard from the mosques or prayer rooms breaking the silence of the morning air while Muslims are preparing or having their meals. This is typical of Ramadan in some of the ASEAN countries namely Indonesia, Brunei and Malaysia where Muslims are majority.
- Each day, moments before breaking fast, there is a sense of quietness engulfing Muslims residences waiting for breaking time to quench their thirst and hunger after their day long fasting.

TOKYO, JAPAN 24th May 2010: Vice President (Northern Zone) and Secretary General of RISEAP, Prof. Bashir Kim Dae Yong and Marzuki Omar, had a brief visit to TAKUSHOKU UNIVERSITY 3-4-14, Kohinata, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo. The majestic imperial gateway to the university stood impressively dominance, reminiscent of Japan glorious history awaited the visitors. INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON MUSLIMS IN MULTICULTURAL SOCIETIES
SINGAPORE – 14th – 15th July 2010 – The Senior Minister of Singapore, Mr. Goh Chok Tong was the guest of honour at the International Conference on Muslims in multicultural societies at Grand Hyatt Hotel, Singapore. In his keynote address, he expressed his view that religious pluralism will increasingly be the norm of the modern world. This diversity in beliefs presents societies with new challenges. He commended MUIS (Majlis Ugama Islam Singapore) for organising the conference with the Oxford University, the Department of Malay Studies in NUS and the National Centre for Excellence for Islamic Studies in the University of Melbourne.
