Islamic Course Closing Ceremony, IIUM

RISEAP is taking a serious step to provide a systematic and formal Islamic education to minority Muslims who are in need of education in order to spread Islam more effectively in their community. The , a part of RISEAP Initiatives, is a rare course that is ever conducted by Islamic organizations in the region.

RISEAP has been conducting a series of this international Islamic course since the year 2000 in order to impart Islamic knowledge to these minority Muslims particularly new converts.

Japanese Muslims Help Earthqake Victims

Japan Muslim Association (), a member organization in Japan, in association with Japan Islamic Trust (Otsuka ), dispatched a group of Muslim relief workers to provide necessary help to the victims of earthquake in Fukushima on 17 April 2011, The group led by Dr Ahmad Shiozaki Yuki, of JMA, donated  to hundreds of the victims now being  evacuated to various places including a high school in Iwaki City.

RISEAP Conducts Islamic Course in Vietnam

RISEAP conducted a one week Islamic course in Vietnam with the aim to improve Islamic knowledge  and skills among the imam from local mosques. The course conducted by and Ust Mohamad Firdause Abdillah, was held in province, Vietnam, from 24 – 29 April 2011. A total of 30 imam and da’wah workers from six mosques in the area attended the course.

The opening ceremony of the course was held on the 24th of April at Masjid Noorul Islam, Kampung Kabak, Tay Ninh province, 150 km from Ho Chi Mihn City. IMAM ILYAS MANU

Imam Ilyas Manu of made a courtesy visit to RISEAP on 14 February 2011 with the aim to strengthen ties and enhance cooperation between Muslim Relations and RISEAP, this visit is the first time since he left RISEAP in 1996 during which he attended the very first Imam held at RISEAP, along with three other participants from Solomon Island, Papua New Guinea and . RISEAP Ex-Participants Remain Active at USIA

One of the most special moments during a RISEAP trip to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah between  22-26 December 2010 was not only to enjoy Sabah exotic sea food, wonderful scenery  or have a cup of nice Sabah tea but the unplanned meeting with several of USIA staff who were familiar to us, ex-participants of RISEAP training programmes some years ago.

RISEAP delegation made a courtesy call to USIA Secretary General, and his staff on 23 December 2010. Kota Kinabalu, Sabah – It is a very special event for RISEAP staff to have an opportunity to visit Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, almost 3-hour fly from , especially when it made a courtesy call to its only member organization in the state, the United Sabah Islamic Association (USIA) on 23 December 2010.
